DESCRIPTION OF WORK In this role, you will assist with various projects which improve or manage food safety programs and assists with the implementation of the summer food program for children. During your internship, you will collaborate with various program specialists to gain a fundamental understanding of the multiple food safety programs managed by the Bureau. Your role will involve supporting program specialists with ongoing projects and identifying potential projects for continuous improvement or implementation during the internship.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time internship that will last from 5/1/2024 through 8/30/2024. Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. Telework: Interns will have the opportunity to work from home (telework), part-time on a schedule that aligns with their supervisor, so they are in the office on the same days. No full time telework will be approved. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection.  If you are unable to telework, you must report to the office. QUALIFICATIONS Internship Requirements: Current full-time enrollment in a bachelor's degree or advanced degree program in one of the following acceptable majors: Food Science Nutrition Food Technology An approved major course which includes a qualifying 24 credit hours of study in the physical, biological and environmental sciences may be acceptable Good academic standing (2.0 GPA or higher) Freshman year completed Pennsylvania residency or enrollment at a Pennsylvania college or university

Additional Requirements: This position requires possession of a valid Class C non-commercial driver's license. You must be able to perform essential job functions.
