DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Fiscal Assistant, you will participate in a wide-range of duties to include sorting and endorsing checks, preparing checks for processing, preparing deposit slips utilizing the SAP system, and maintaining copies of deposit transit slips for reference and sending the original to the Revenue Department with checks.  You will also process cash payments and non-revenue payments, and verify reimbursement and restitution payments as an open account utilizing the OSIG Avoidance and Recovery System (OARS).  It is essential to maintain a working knowledge of accounting practices and principles, as considerable interfacing of financial documents between Revenue, Treasury, and Comptrollers operations occurs.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch. Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 3 days per week, based upon operational needs.  In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania.  If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Two years of experience performing bookkeeping or clerical accounting work; or An associate degree in accounting or business administration including or supplemented by six credits in accounting; or Any equivalent combination of experience and training. Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree/credits.
