DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Diversity, Equity, Belonging and Inclusion Officer in this position, you drive the department's diversity, equity, and inclusion work by establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.

Duties include proficiently navigating a personal computer, applications, and software programs. You also read, interpret, and apply agency and Commonwealth policies as appropriate. In addition, you apply research and analysis principles and techniques, analyze and interpret information and data, and organize and present the results of your research and analysis to necessary parties.

  • Full-time employment, 37.5-hour work week. 
  • Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch. 
  • Travel may be needed as required.  
  • *Telework: *You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time up to two (2) days per week telework, and three (3) days per week in the office. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.  
  • *Salary: *In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year as an Administrative Officer 3; or
  • Six years of experience in progressively responsible and varied officer management of staff work in public or private organization, including experience in personnel management, budgeting, and procurement; and such training as may have been gained through graduation from a four-year college or university; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

      Additional Requirements: 

  • Three years of professional diversity, equity, and inclusion experience.

  • Three years of experience identifying diversity, equity, and inclusion gaps in a large organization. (over 100 or higher)
  • Three years of experience giving formal presentations to large groups, both internally and externally.
  • Three years of professional strategic experience creating a diverse and inclusive culture.
  • Three years of professional experience developing and implementing diversity and inclusion policies and procedures.
  • Three years of experience leading programs that require different methods of intervention, different resources, and different tools for measurement.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

*Preferred Qualifications (not required): *

  • Experience facilitating, managing, and leading employee work groups.
  • Experience managing and leading large projects or programs.
