DESCRIPTION OF WORK As an intern, you will assist full-time Diesel and Construction Mechanics by participating in daily activities related to diesel maintenance, repairs, and engine rebuilding. It is important to exhibit initiative, a strong eagerness to learn, and the ability to follow established procedures and instructions that enhance your learning and effective task performance. Additionally, actively pursuing and retaining comprehensive knowledge is vital. You will also be responsible for adhering to time and attendance policies, following call-off procedures, complying with safety regulations, and observing PennDOT work rules. Daily engagement in assigned tasks is expected, showcasing initiative and a readiness to learn, assist, follow directions, and contribute to task completion. It is essential to absorb and retain relevant information while being accountable for attendance, call-off procedures, safety policies, and departmental regulations.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Work schedule will vary based on agreement between high school and COPA location This internship could include summer 2024, 2024-2025 school year, summer 2025, and 2025-2026 school year. Check your email, including spam/junk folders, for these notices.   REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS Internship Requirements: You must be at least 16 years of age. You must be a junior or senior enrolled in high school during the 2024 - 2025 school year.

Additional Requirements:

You must be a vo-tech (career and technical center) student in an approved cooperative vocational program that has prepared the student for the duties and description of work described in this posting.

Letter of Recommendation: You must attach a Letter of Recommendation from your school's co-op coordinator, career or guidance counselor, or similar designated school professional indicating you meet your school's requirements and are being recommended for this opportunity. Work Permit: Minors will be required to submit their Work Permit upon acceptance of this position. By participating in this program, the student and school agree to use the Commonwealth's Training Plan, Statement of Responsibilities, and Student Performance Evaluation. Forms will be provided to the student upon acceptance of this position. You must be able to perform essential job functions. How to Apply:
