Reference #: 4620133 THE POSITION Start your career with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania! The Department of General Services is seeking a Custodial Worker 1 Division to perform general cleaning duties with our Harrisburg Regional team. Join us and take pride in your ability to keep offices, restrooms, and other public spaces in a clean and orderly condition.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

The Custodial Worker 1 position involves a variety of essential responsibilities. We will rely on your keen eye for details to ensure that adequate amounts of restroom supplies are available for use, and you will provide replenishment as needed. Any discrepancies, such as burnt-out or blinking light bulbs, plumbing leaks, clogged drains, or anything unusual should be reported to the immediate supervisor. Your cleaning duties will include, but are not limited to: Sweeping and mopping restroom floors and washing and cleaning all restroom furnishings, and fixtures such as mirrors, toilets, urinals, partitions, walls, and sinks. General cleaning and dusting of office furnishings, office equipment, file cabinets, windows, and glass. Polishing furniture items, such as chairs, desks, conference tables, and bookshelves. Utilizing a commercial heavy-duty scrub machine (buffer) to clean and buff floors.

You will also operate pallet jacks and dollies to move furniture and materials from one area to another and be required to participate in snow and ice removal from building entrances, exits, sidewalks, driveways, stairways, and distribution of deicing materials where needed. Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment Work hours are 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with 60-minute lunch. Essential employee - required to report to work during emergencies and office closings. Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.
