First Commonwealth Bank Corporate Banker in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania

As a Corporate Banker I at First Commonwealth, you are responsible for cultivating new business from potential and existing clients, cross-selling to ensure the financial needs of clients are met while deepening their banking relationship. You grow your portfolio of loans and deposits in order to meet your individual goals while considering appropriate credit and compliance practices.

Essential Job Responsibilities__

  1. The typical portfolio of a Corporate Banker I is up to 75 million, with smaller, less complex deals, generally around $1 - 5 million. Typically, a Corporate Banker I will have an annual goal around $10 million which is established by management.

  2. Performs a variety of duties required to drive sales and develop new business including but not limited to, outside calling, relationship building, and developing Centers of Influence by participating in various community activities, civic and charitable organizations.

  3. Builds strong collaborative partnerships with Treasury Management, Insurance, Wealth, Equipment Finance, Retail, etc. in order to cross-sells, meet client needs and deepen relationships.

  4. Works with Credit Administration to determine initial credit worthiness, understand their credit strengths and weaknesses and to ensure credit quality standards are met/maintained, including the oversight of past due accounts, exceptions and overall credit quality.

  5. Takes a proactive approach in identifying and evaluating concerns related to emerging credit quality issues and works with Special Assets to mitigate potential losses.

  6. Continually strives to build upon knowledge and enhance credit analysis skills.

  7. Negotiates with clients to obtain optimal terms and conditions for a mutually beneficial relationship, oversees the proper execution of documents in accordance with bank policy and closes transactions.

  8. Provides direct service to assigned commercial clients of the bank with respect to deposit, loan, and other miscellaneous products and services.

  9. Assists clients in obtaining services from other bank departments as necessary and supports clients with specific inquiries or service problems.

  10. Prepares and maintains accurate records of all client service calls made and meetings held with present and prospective clients.

  11. Remains compliant and provides sales information on a timely basis to be included as part of client service and sales performance reports.

  12. Monitors individual sales performance versus objectives on a regular basis and discusses performance with supervisor on a frequent basis.

  13. Maintains a thorough knowledge of the features and benefits of all corporate banking products and services as well as bank operating policies and procedures.

Bona Fide Occupational Qualifications___

  1. A Bachelor's degree in Business or Finance related field, and/or equivalent experience required.

  2. A minimum of three (3) years of credit analysis experience and demonstrated business development skills required.

  3. Exceptional communication skills with ability to influence others, as well as strong computer and analytical skills are necessary.

  4. A valid driver's license and travel, including some overnight stays, are required.
