DESCRIPTION OF WORK This is an entry level Civil Engineering position with the working title of Civil Engineer Trainee. This position will participate in both formal and on the job, training programs under the direction of professional engineers, in order to develop proficiency in the field of Civil Engineering.

In this position, you will meet with Federal, State, and Local Officials, lift/carry 40 pounds over rough terrain, and drive an automobile.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Full-time employment. Work hours are 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday - Friday, with a 1-hour lunch. Overnight travel required Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time up to 5 days per pay period. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. Check your email, including spam/junk folders, for these notices.   REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Four years of civil engineering experience, and an Engineer-in-Training certificate issued by or acceptable to the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists; or A bachelor's degree in civil engineering, or in a closely related field, which includes or was supplemented by major course work in civil engineering; or An equivalent combination of experience and training which includes possession of an Engineer-in-Training certificate issued by or acceptable to the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists. Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within three months of graduating with a qualifying degree.Conditions of Employment: This position also requires possession of a valid driver's license which is not under suspension.Other Requirements: PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
