DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Basic Education Associate 2, you will assist in facilitating and training school leaders in best practices for strategic planning and processes for school improvement. Work includes providing training across the state on aspects of school planning, implementation, and monitoring. You will have the opportunity to collaborate with department staff, districts, and IUs to create a seamless link between school improvement and district comprehensive plans, with a focus on holding districts equally responsible for providing schools with the support they need to obtain results. Additional responsibilities include: Creating tools and training opportunities to support making data-based decisions regarding school improvement Supporting the development of district and school policies for submitting comprehensive plan requirements and removing barrier policies that block progress Supporting the development and implementation of a system of district and school audit tools for collecting, analyzing, and reporting pathway data that leads to improved student performance results

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment Periodic travel to professional conferences may be required. Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch. Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. You will be required to report in-office one day per week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: One year of experience as a Basic Education Associate l; or Five years of professional experience in the field of education; or Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

Other Requirements: This particular position also requires a valid and active teaching certificate. You must meet the PA residency requirement.
