The Department of Environmental Protection in Dauphin County is seeking a dedicated Air Quality Program Specialist to lead the efforts in coordinating the Air Quality Technical Advisory Committee (AQTAC) and to be the main point of contact for the asbestos notification system. DESCRIPTION OF WORK As part of this position, your main responsibilities will involve providing administrative support to AQTAC. This includes attending meetings, preparing meeting agendas and minutes, creating presentation materials, handling membership appointments, and performing other related tasks. Additionally, you will be the main point of contact for asbestos requirements for the Bureau of Air Quality. You will also be responsible for coordinating the Division of Compliance and Enforcement's involvement in regulatory development. You will be assisting with federal and state regulatory compliance obligations, specifically focusing on maximum achievable control technology (MACT) standards for major sources and new source performance standards (NSPS) provisions and tracking these compliance obligations. Furthermore, you will be expected to provide backup support for the administration of the small business compliance advisory committee (SBCAC).

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Full-time employment Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch. Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 3 days per week with approval. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. Check your email, including spam/junk folders, for these notices.   REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

Two years of experience as an Air Quality Specialist; or One year of experience as an Air Monitoring Program Supervisor; One year as a Fiscal Technician, and fifteen college credits in accounting; or Three years of professional work in the control and abatement of air pollution and a Bachelor's Degree in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Engineering, or an environmental field closely related to Air Quality Management; or An equivalent combination of experience and/or training. Special Requirement: This position requires possession of a valid Pennsylvania driver's license. Other Requirements: PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
