Reference #: 4557875 THE POSITION The Office of State Inspector General (OSIG) is looking to fill an Accountant 2 position within the Claim Accounting Division. This supervisor position is responsible for providing a full range of professional, financial, and analytical services to the management of the OSIG, Office of Comptroller Operations, and the Department of Revenue. DESCRIPTION OF WORK In this position, you will direct the activities of the Claim Accounting Division in the Bureau of Administration, Policy, and Training, and provide accounting support for the processing of monies recovered from public assistance recipients who obtained benefits to which they were not entitled. This includes a responsibility for all input/output of financial transactions to our accounting database and deposit production, with preparation of all supporting documentation towards audit verification to control and report revenue. Your focus will also include reviewing systems and processes for the development of enhancements to OSIG's collections process, coordinating transactions and processes with counterparts in other departments, and performing the full range of supervisory duties over several professional and technical personnel.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Full-time employment Work hours are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch. Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 12 days per month based on operational needs. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. Check your email, including spam/junk folders, for these notices.   REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: One year as an Accountant 1;or Two years of professional accounting experience, and graduation from a four-year college or university, including or supplemented by fifteen credits in accounting. Four years of bookkeeping experience and fifteen college credits in accounting may be substituted for college graduation. A Master's degree in Accounting or a related field may be substituted for one year of general work experience. Other Requirements: You must meet the PA residency requirement.
