DESCRIPTION OF WORK The role involves carrying out semi-skilled manual labor for construction and maintenance tasks at Codorus State Park. This includes working independently or as part of a team, as well as assisting skilled workers with routine maintenance and construction duties.

The responsibilities also entail making repairs to buildings and facilities using a variety of tools from carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and other building trades to ensure that maintenance work is carried out effectively.

Additionally, the position involves operating and participating in the maintenance, care, and cleaning of vehicles and equipment used within the park, as well as performing ground maintenance tasks such as mowing, weed cutting, site preparation, seeding, and tree and shrub maintenance.

Other duties include picking up litter and trash, sorting recyclable materials, loading and moving materials using dump trucks or pick-up trucks, and cleaning grills and maintaining picnic areas. This also involves building and repairing picnic tables, as well as installing fire rings and charcoal grills.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

This is a seasonal, full-time position without benefits. The season runs from approximately March until November at which the employee is placed on leave without pay. This position is a 24/7 operation. Shifts/days will vary based on operational needs. You may be required to work evenings, weekends and holidays. Check your email, including spam/junk folders, for these notices.   REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: One year of experience in laboring work including the use of tools and equipment used in maintenance or construction; or An equivalent combination of experience and training.
