Reference #: 5001068430006 Utz Quality Foods is seeking an Environmental, Health, and Safety Coordinator to join our team in Hanover, PA. Reporting to the EHS Director- Manufacturing for Utz Quality Foods and will support the implementation of our EHS Management System at the manufacturing locations in our Hanover, PA campus. This position will partner with plant EHS Leaders and provide specific support to ensure implementation of the Utz EHS Management System. Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree in environmental science, chemistry, safety engineering, or a related technical field or equivalent combination of education and experience. A minimum of 2 years of experience in environmental, health, and safety management, as well as 3 years manufacturing experience, with demonstrated leadership experience. Knowledge of OSHA and other applicable industry EHS standards, experience working with regulatory agencies and external auditors, along with a demonstrated experience changing safety culture at a company or facility. Candidates must be proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and ERP computer applications, have strong analytical skills to evaluate performance metrics and outcomes, superior communication skills both verbal and written, and strong problem solving and decision-making skills with the ability to develop multiple solutions to an issue and make valid recommendations for resolution. Experience in the food and beverage manufacturing industry is preferred.

EHS Coordinator: Support Implementation of the Utz EHS management system to ensure compliance with all Federal, State, and local laws and regulations. Support EHS team at the three Hanover, PA locations. Support the Hanover campus incident management program and track all action items to completion. Compile EHS metrics and report to plant EHS leadership. Conduct regular inspections and audits of facilities, equipment, and processes to identify potential hazards and ensure adherence to safety protocols, working with Plant Leadership to reduce the risk of employee injury. Conduct EHS Orientation and training across the campus. Support the Hanover, PA campus training matrix, provide training, and tracking for EHS training and communication programs. Support Workers Compensation process at the Hanover, PA campus in partnership with the Utz Risk Management team and EHS site leadership. Maintain a current working knowledge of EHS regulations and laws to provide expertise for EHS assessments, capital projects, work orders, and general EHS related problem solving at the site, regional and corporate level as needed. Recommend and implement programs to ensure compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal environmental regulations including documentation, reporting, permits, manifests, training, and policy development. Support the process to record and investigate all incidents of injury, work related illness or damage to property, partnering with the necessary parties to resolve any identified corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence and meet loss-reduction goals. May occasionally perform special projects and other duties as assigned. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in environmental science, chemistry, safety engineering, or related technical field or equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum of 2 years of experience in environmental, health, and safety or equivalent experience. Minimum of 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment. Knowledge of OSHA and other applicable industry EHS standards. Experience working with regulatory agencies and external auditors. Able to understand and execute processes including recognizing customer needs, communicating process changes, measuring, and assessing success and identifying areas of improvement. Ability to work under pressure. Ability to develop and implement environmental and safety policies, programs, and training. Knowledge of manufacturing practices and processes. Ability to adjust work hours as needed. Demonstrated ability to move between tasks and projects on short notice and to quickly change priorities based on customer and department needs, while still meeting project deadlines. Ability to develop and maintain relationships with all levels within and outside the organization from corporate, regional and plant management to supervisors and hourly employees in the production areas. Able to work well in a team environment or independently. Other Physical Requirements: Responsible to follow all safety rules and work safely at all times. Responsible to identify and resolve any safety issues with plant leadership team. Must adhere to all Good Manufacturing Practices and SQF standards. Required to wear non-slip shoes and appropriate personal protective equipment. Able to climb ladders and stairs and the ability to lift moderately heavy items such as test equipment or materials.
