This job was posted by https://joblink.maine.gov : For more information, please see: https://joblink.maine.gov/jobs/1022799 Hughes Bros. is an aggregate and redi-mix concrete supplier and earthwork contractor located in Hampden, Maine, with a team of 50 employees that serve the Bangor region. We are currently seeking to fill the position of Concrete Plant Operator who will be responsible for operation of a new ready-mix concrete plant in Ellsworth.
Responsibilities include operations of a concrete plant including batching, efficient operation and maintenance of the plant, maintaining production materials including aggregate stockpiles, and oversight of drivers.
Candidate will be trained at a facility in Hampden, Maine
Job Functions
Work directly for the Materials Manager and collaborate with dispatch and other team managers and employees.
Daily scheduling, working closely with dispatch and drivers.
Operation and maintenance of the plant and associated facilities.
Ensure quality assurance during batching and loading, reviewing orders for accuracy and ensuring the quality of materials to produce ready-mix concrete.
Develop and/or maintain an understanding of concrete characteristics, mix design features, additives, aggregate characteristics, and associated processing.
.Ensure all team members are following safety policy and procedures. Develop and maintain proficiency in associated OSHA regulations.
Develop relationships with customers, vendors, suppliers.
Develop experience working with the Hughes team, to support and maintain competitive, efficient and profitable operations.
Desired Education, Skills and Experience
Minimum high school degree
Knowledge and experience in redi-mix concrete operations.
Knowledge of OSHA rules and regulations
Basic Computer Skills and ability to run operational software
Good math skills
Ability to work well with others.
Supervisory skills are a plus.
Mechanical Abilities to Troubleshoot and Perform Plant Maintenance
