Carmen's Group Corporate Sales Associate in Hamilton, Ontario

CORPORATE SALES ASSOCIATE

We are seeking somebody dynamic, personable and passionate to join our Hamilton Convention Centre team!

The Corporate Sales Associate ensures new and existing business is optimized in our facility, as well as delivering top notch service. 

OPPORTUNITIES WILL INCLUDE:

  • Actively pursue and acquire new corporate event bookings utilizing effective outbound and inbound sales techniques

  • Provide innovative ideas and input for increasing sales numbers, bookings and inquiries

  • Use superb customer service, communication and negotiation skills to establish new client relationships as well as nurturing existing ones

  • Conduct in person sales appointments with inquiring and existing clients

  • Conduct sales calls and venue tours, being a main point of contact for prospective and returning corporate/social clients

  • Respond to customer inquiries, needs and concerns in a friendly, personal and efficient manner. 

  • Create event contracts and collect deposits.

  • Stay up to date with current hospitality and event trends, as well as industry trends and adapt to information regarding product innovations, competitors and market conditions. 

  • Track sales ensuring targets are being achieved

  • Attend and conduct scheduled team meetings prior to all events to guarantee successful execution. 

  • Other duties as required

REQUIREMENTS:

  • 2-3 years of special event, hospitality or travel and tourism related experience

  • 1-2 years customer service experience required

  • Post Secondary education, in Business Administration, Hospitality or related field

  • A sales or marketing Degree from a recognized University is considered an asset

  • Canadian Professional Sales Association (CPSA) certification considered an asset

  • High level of attention to detail and strong organizational skills

  • Superior verbal and written communication skills

  • A team - oriented approach to work with strong abilities to provide and receive professional feedback for collective growth

  • Customer service mindset as well as a high level of ethics and integrity

  • Flexible work schedule, including evenings and weekends to address client needs
