AVP - Risk & Compliance Executive (Aon Insurance Managers (Bermuda) Ltd.

Aon Insurance Managers (Bermuda) Ltd. is seeking an experienced (AVP) Risk and Compliance Executive to join them to support the Chief Compliance Officer and provide our licensed insurance manager, broking, agent, and insurance entities with compliance, governance, and risk frameworks that meet Aon group requirements, and ensure all entities meet all legal and regulatory requirements

What the day will look like

  • Ensures the Aon entities in Bermuda follow all applicable laws and regulations, with particular focus on the Insurance Act 1978, Proceeds of Crime Act 1997, Privacy Laws, and applicable codes of conduct and Guidance Notes. In addition, assesses the impact of any new or changes to existing legislation and applies the appropriate course of action.

  • Prepares and has oversight of key compliance policies and procedures, including but not limited to, governance manual, risk management framework, financial crimes, trade sanctions, compliance policy and compliance assurance plans.

  • Implements, tests and monitors system of key compliance controls, including the application of compliance measure of internal policies and procedures.

  • Drafts and presents in person, data, implemented action and results to the Board of Directors and Committee for Aon Bermuda entities.

  • Facilitates and conducts staff training on regulatory compliance subject matters.

  • Responsible for the coordination and remediation of any regulatory and internal audit reviews including AML/ATF and Prudential.

Skills and experience that will lead to success

  • Legal degree, accounting qualification (ACA, CPA, etc.) or other equivalent professional regulatory qualification is required at minimum.

  • Certified Anti Money Laundering Specialist or equivalent internationally recognized qualification is required at minimum.

  • Proven, relevant experience operating in a large global organization; preferably in the (re)insurance industry and/or with the regulator and with insurance management, broking, and managing agents.

  • Demonstrative experience implementing risk and control frameworks.

  • Strong understanding and experience working within the Insurance Act; Insurance Brokers and Agents Code of Conduct; and Insurance Code of Conduct is preferable.

  • Strong digital literacy with Microsoft Office Software, with good proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
