Your Role

Kühne + Nagel operates a hybrid cloud environment in several globally distributed data centers, where the global IT infrastructure provides services that enable development teams to develop and operate their applications.

The Global Compute, Storage, and Backup Team provides all relevant services related to compute, storage, SAN, and backup in the hybrid cloud. In this team, you will work with other colleagues to further optimize and automate our existing infrastructure.

Your Responsibilities

• Further development and optimization of our storage landscape and its maintenance, both on-premises and in the cloud.

• Design, planning, and implementation of new releases and updates.

• Maintenance and optimization of the SANs in the global data centers of KN.

• Automation of recurring tasks.

• Active participation in backup topics.

• Support our DevOps teams as a consultant, point of contact for colleagues in the automation area, and 3rd level support for all questions related to storage and backup.

• Participation in on-call duty on a weekly basis.

Your Skills and Experiences

• A completed degree, ideally in business informatics/computer science or a comparable education.

• Several years of experience in the architecture, administration, and operation of storage products in the enterprise sector, preferably NetApp and Pure.

• Very good knowledge of backup and snapshot technologies.

• Good knowledge of SAN.

• Practical experience in the application of scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python, JavaScript) is an advantage.

• Experience in virtualization is an advantage.

• Very secure English skills, both written and spoken.

• Strong communication skills, combined with a team-oriented working style in an international environment.
