About the Position

The candidate will be responsible for designing parts, components, tooling, and prototype objects. Operation of computerized design programs to aid in the release of aforementioned items is required. Demonstration of design aptitude, the ability to grasp complex concepts easily, and pay attention to detail is mandatory. This includes but is not limited to the activities/responsibilities listed below:

Responsibilities and Requirements

  • Prototype assembling, disassembly, installation, removal and/or teardown of test objects to support testing activities in test cells and vehicles both in laboratory and in field.

  • Work in cooperation with designers to contribute to instructions and methods development for test objects assembly and disassembly.

  • Respond to the development of components and participate in the test's preparation, duration, completion, and post-test follow-up.

  • Stop and intervene in case of safety matters for people, facilitates or equipment.

  • Perform or contribute to procedures, training, or technical instructions.

  • Occasional travel to support vehicle expeditions.

Critical Competencies and Experience Required

Minimum Requirements:

  • Basic Computer Skills

  • Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams

  • Internet Explorer (or Equivalent)

  • Outlook

  • H.S. Diploma or equivalent

  • Strong communication Skills

  • CDL Preferred

Prerequisite:

  • Pass a skills test with and one of the following:

  • Minimum of two years post high school training/education in diesel mechanics with a minimum of 3 years diesel powertrain mechanic experience; OR

  • diesel certificate equivalent with a minimum of 3 years diesel powertrain mechanic experience; OR

  • 8 years of relevant diesel mechanic experience

On Job Training:

  • Must acquire within two (2) years a thorough working knowledge of diesel powertrain principles, company mechanic specific component, system, assembly, and disassembly procedures and guidelines. The candidate must also demonstrate proficiency in the completion of tasks while working independently, while following plant safety guidelines.
