Eaton Corporation Sr. Engineer- Technical Writer (PM Excellence) in Hadapsar, India

What you’ll do:

"EIIC functional excellence organization is aligned with CTO’s strategy to drive “One Eaton Engineering Functional Excellence”. The Charter of this organization is to simplify & create better work experiences for our Engineers by transforming existing engineering work processes. EIIC functional excellence organization will work with global Engineering Functional Excellence leaders in CTO’s office, Electrical, and Industrial Sector businesses.

These organizations will be responsible for developing and deploying One Eaton processes across all sectors and businesses across the globe.

As a Technical Writer, you will play a crucial role in translating complex technical information into clear and concise documentation. Your primary responsibility will be to create user manuals, process manuals, process descriptions, instruction guides, and training materials that effectively communicate intricate concepts related to the multiple domains of Engineering Functional Excellence. You will collaborate closely with subject-matter experts (SMEs) to understand the technical details and present them in a way that is easily digestible for the intended audience."

"Roles and Responsibilities:

  1. Research and Understand Technical Information:
  • Work closely with SMEs to grasp complex topics related to the domains of Engineering Functional Excellence.

  • Interpret work methods, toolchain use and other data to create accurate and informative documentation.

  1. Content Creation:
  • Write and edit technical documents, including process manuals, user manuals, training materials, white papers, and technical reports.

  • Ensure clarity, accuracy, and consistency in the content.

  • Maintain effective communication with SMEs to validate content accuracy.

  • Document current and future process states in Signavio

  1. Technical Communication and Documentation:
  • Create comprehensive technical documentation that serves as a valuable resource for users.

  • Communicate complex technical concepts clearly and concisely.

  • Understanding of VSMs (Value Stream Maps) and ability to document Current and Future States

  1. Proofreading and Style Guides:
  • Review and proofread documents to ensure grammatical correctness, consistency, and adherence to style guidelines.
  1. Extensible Markup Language (XML):
  • Familiarity with XML for structuring and organizing technical content.
  1. Data Analysis and Validation:
  • Analyze data related to Enterprise level R&D Spend and incorporate relevant insights into dashboards and documentation.

  • Validate technical information through rigorous fact-checking.

  1. Product Knowledge:
  • Develop a deep understanding of the products and services related to Eaton.

  • Translate product / process features and functionality into user-friendly documentation.

  1. Audience Focus:
  • Present technical information in a way that is easily understood by the target audience.

  • Determine the clearest and most logical way to present information for maximum reader comprehension.

  1. Quality Assurance:
  • Review and edit content developed by other team members.

  • Ensure compliance with organizational standards and guidelines.

  • Develop and follow processes to ensure Quality Control of all releases

Qualifications:

Required: Bachelor’s degree in relevant fields (e.g., Engineering, Technical Communication, or a related discipline) with 6-9 Yrs experience.

Skills:

Strong understanding of organizational processes

"• Lean methods – Understanding of VSMs and ability to document Current and Future States

• Mastery of the English language – ability to be grammatically correct and technically accurate in authoring process documents.

• Proficiency in tools such as Microsoft Word, Adobe Acrobat, and content management systems."
