What you’ll do:

The primary responsibility of this role is to work on Gearing & Bearing projects related to Power Transmission products like Transmission, Supercharger, Differential for ICE and EV application. Applicant needs to closely work with technical lead and global stakeholders to provide timely support and ensure deliverables in line with project schedule. The role is to support all engineering activities from capturing customer requirements till launch of the product in co-ordination with various cross functional teams like product engineering, program management, manufacturing plant, test lab and supply chain. Good to have hands on knowledge of design for six sigma tools and methodologies. The applicant must be self-motivated and possess good communication skills with cross functional team.

• Applicant must have an experience to design, develop and validate power transmission components like cylindrical / bevel gear, spline, bearings etc. for ICE and EV application.

• Applicant must have hands on experience of using MASTA / RomaxDESIGNER / KissSoft or any other gear and bearing design software.

• Applicant should have knowledge of lubrication, different gear and bearing manufacturing processes, materials & heat treatment processes.

Job Responsibilities

• Develops value added technical Gear and bearing solution based upon detailed system level technical analysis and awareness of customer needs in Region and Global.

• Evaluates product performance and life expectations through MASTA and LDP software. Leverages analytical techniques viz. Structural, Vibration and Plant Modelling from other departments.

• Utilizes DFSS concepts / tools such as PDSC, P-Diagram, DFMEA, Risk Management & DVPR for New Product Development (NPD) &/or existing product improvements.

• Validate integrity & accuracy of CoE outputs as per Transmission requirements.

• Maintains close liaison with Global Operations during the development and verification phase of NPD & current product engineering programs to ensure smooth execution.

• Apply knowledge of GD&T and work on Enovia environment to release the design and models.

• Fosters innovation and creates IP while working on NPD, NTI, VAVE and problem-solving projects.

• Applicant should understand different transmission architectures, applications, and duty cycles.

• Applicant should have good understanding of gear and bearing component level and system level validation, SN curve generation.

• Applicant should have thorough understanding of various gear and bearing standards like ISO/ANSI/AGMA.

Qualifications:

• BE/ME/MTech/MS in Mechanical or Automobile Engineering

• BE / BTech: 3-5 yrs.; ME/ MTech: 1-2 yrs. of experience in product design
