Robert Half Customer Service Representative in Hackettstown, New Jersey

Description We are offering a contract-to-hire employment opportunity for a Customer Service Representative in Hackettstown, New Jersey. Your role will primarily involve handling customer inquiries, processing orders, and maintaining accurate customer databases. You will be working in a highly technical environment, providing support to our sales team, and playing a key role as the first and last point of contact for resolving customer issues.

Responsibilities:

• Serving as the first point of contact for resolving customer issues including order status, expediting, and shipping inquiries.

• Responding to customer’s Request for Quotation (RFQ) and ensuring all information on the quote is correct and accurate.

• Setting up new customer accounts and maintaining the customer database.

• Processing customer orders and acknowledgments, ensuring accuracy and completeness of each order.

• Documenting customer interactions, recording details of inquiries, comments, transactions, and any necessary follow-ups.

• Identifying and communicating lead times and order status to customers.

• Coordinating with the production planner to meet specially required delivery dates.

• Providing timely and accurate updates/notifications pertaining to customer orders.

• Communicating with the sales team to meet and exceed customer’s service expectations.

• Utilizing problem-solving techniques and solutions to address customer needs as required.

• Maintaining a digital filing system and processing customer orders, changes, and returns according to established department policies and procedures.

• Communicating and coordinating with internal departments as necessary.

• Working closely with the credit department to resolve disputed credit items. Requirements • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word is required.

• Excellent customer service skills and experience in a customer-facing role.

• Ability to handle inbound and outbound calls with professionalism and courtesy.

• Strong data entry skills with attention to detail and accuracy.

• Experience with order entry and managing customer orders.

• Ability to manage and schedule appointments effectively.

• Efficient email correspondence skills to communicate with customers and team members.

• Availability to answer inbound calls from customers and provide assistance.

• Capable of working in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high-quality standards.
