Develop designs from concept through final design for transportation infrastructure. Plan alteration or modification of existing transportation structures to improve safety or function. Evaluate transportation systems or traffic control devices or lighting systems to determine need for modification or expansion. Investigate traffic problems and recommend methods to improve traffic flow or safety. Model transportation scenarios to evaluate the impacts of activities such as new development or to identify possible solutions to transportation problems. Design or engineer drainage, erosion, or sedimentation control systems for transportation projects. Design or prepare traffic plans for new roadways or improvements to existing roadways. Prepare project budgets, schedules, or specifications for labor or materials. Skills required: ArcGIS, Synchro, Aimsun, AutoCAD, MicroStation, Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe Illustrator, EarthCam, TACTICS, and Quickbase. Master’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering (any), or related, or foreign equivalent with 1 year of experience in the job offered or related occupation is required.
