Ford Motor Company Legal & Gov. Affairs Officer in Ha Noi, Vietnam

Report to Legal and Government Affairs Manager

Legal Tasks

Study and monitor the existing and new laws/ regulations and developing regulations, conduct analysis and provide insightful recommendations to assure the company's compliance with applicable laws/regulations.

Conduct legal reviews and provide the legal advice necessary to support all the functions in the company and the business initiatives.

Reviewing and participating in the negotiation of purchase and sales contracts, distribution, commercial and agency contracts etc;

Review legal impact or legal compliance of any new program, projects launch by the Company.

Review the official internal decisions and letters issued by the Company.

Preparation of dossiers for updating the internal certificates of the Company including Investment Registration Certificate, Enterprise Registration Certificate, Certificate of Eligibility for automobile production and assembly

Preparation English-to-Vietnamese translation and vice versa as per business’s request.

Coordinate with HR Department to manage business ethics & conflict interest, integrity, ensure the compliance of the Company with the labour law and regulations.

Provide legal support for disputes arising from contract implementation, customer, dealer, supplier’s complaint. Manage lawsuits and arbitrations arising during business operations, including product liability, labor dispute and various legal issues.

Manage the various company licenses, including the application, revision, renewal, and annual audit, etc.

Provide follow up on legal issues and make recommendations for improvement.

Supporting the intellectual property protection, manage on the renewal and newly signed agreement, documents POA related to intellectual property.

Managing external legal counsel and outside resources related to legal area when necessary.

Manage all internal admin and reporting procedures trained by Head of Department or to be trained on day to day basic.

Government Affairs tasks

Support the Government Affair team and the regional team on reviewing the policies and regulation, report to the management and cascaded to the functional team on the new policies and regulation;

Work with the Government directly on the legal audit and support other teams when the government audit occurred;

Maintain good relationships with central and local authorities and agencies that are relevant to company business’s interests and within the remit of the legal and government affairs

Co-ordinate and set up meetings with external organizations

Take any other tasks as assigned by direct manager or Head of Department if required

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor's Degree, major in Law, master’s degree is a preference.

At least 5-7 years legal related experience working/practicing in an international law firm or top tier local law firm or in a legal position in a foreign invested company

3-5 years experience in Government affairs or cooperate affairs or policy consultants is a preference

QUALIFICATIONS:

Good at English (Writing, Speaking & Listening) and MS Office (Word/Excel, Power Point);

Good business acumen, decisive, positive attitude, hardworking and systematic thinking;

Good communication skills;

Independent mind with good ability of risk analyzing in reviewing business transactions;

Strong sense of responsibility, self-confident, integrity;

Good communication skills and highly self-motivated personality;

Having adaptability skill and able to work under pressure, environment changing and uncertainty and set his/her own high standard, able to prioritize his/her works to meet the stretch deadline;

Able to manage multi-tasks according to business/team structures and needs.

Others preferred:

Have management skill to manage relationship with Government officials.

Good understanding about Government policies and strategy on automotive industry.

Having experience working in the International Law Firm, International Companies or Automotive business is a plus
