Senior Analyst, Finance Business Partner

Sr Analyst Finance Business Partner Support, Key Regional Accounts

Overview:

This role is a key member of the APAC Regional FP&A team supporting Key Regional Accounts and assisting to manage key business partners across these Regional Accounts. APAC is one of Mastercard’s high growth regions with a key strategic focus and priority for driving preference and delivering on long-term strategy. This is an opportunity to work cross-functionally with regional and global teams including all Key Stakeholders of APAC leadership team for eg. Regional CFO, Regional / Divisional Presidents, Product, Sales organization of Key accounts, DFO’s of various BU’s.

Role:

Will require someone proficient at managing multiple tasks and be able to prioritize with teams to ensure work is done in a timely manner. Candidate will develop a sound understanding of the Mastercard business across all key areas of Revenue, Expense, Product, etc. and be able to utilize that knowledge into making well-thought out and sound recommendations acting as able Business Partner to Key Account stakeholders.

Key responsibilities:

• Along with the Manager, will support the FP&A linked financial processes end to end through the analysis of variances against budget, forecasts, prior year actuals, key business drivers and initiatives for Key Accounts.

• Assist in Implementing and maintaining processes to ensure effective and timely generation of Account level revenue forecasts and budgets.

• Support strategic planning sessions by developing engagement and reporting processes between RHQ, Divisions, Global teams and various functional groups.

• P&L Management: Gain an understanding of the full P&L for the Key Accounts, inclusive of all revenue and expense line items, in order to provide a holistic view of the business and support respective accounts to operate within the defined budgets and raise red flags as and when required.

• Perform analysis to support in strategic activities within the Key Accounts Management team

• Taking the lead on BAU activities including liaison with Billings team, assistance in settlement of Citi incentive claims, etc.

• Work closely with Services/Product finance teams with analytics and insights in driving market share, CBA funded services across products and provide regular updates

• Give support to key stakeholders to develop and review business cases for key initiatives / deals and strategies

• Analytics: help produce reports on financials and performance analytics… Prepare standard analytics and reporting on firm scheduled deadlines

• Assist on financial process improvements by building and maintaining financial tools to perform analysis and modeling

• Help out in month end close activities with APAC Divisions to understand the market level numbers and reasons for variance Vs budget and forecast

• Assist in management reporting for all areas including Revenue, Expense, profit, managerial Pnl, SPA, SIP/ CAPP, Regional Scorecards, etc.

• Help development of the strategic business plans and work to develop the annual plan and budget process for Key Accounts.

• Assist on co-brand/new deal proposals for the Key accounts as required from time to time.

• Apply good strategic understanding of multi-dimensional business dynamics of the regional markets and competitive forces at play in driving creative responses and formulating mitigating strategies.

• Support continuous reviews of existing processes to assess operational efficiency and development and implementation of process improvements to ensure that processes meet the present and anticipated needs of internal customers, members, and other stakeholders

Knowledge:

• Specialized knowledge in management reporting - Chartered Accountant or CPA.

• Analytical and strategic. Have key insights across market opportunities.

• Broad based commercial awareness to manage risk versus return trade-offs.

• In-depth understanding of all the commercial drivers impacting MasterCard’s business in the division (current and emerging product lines, services and programs)

Communication & Impact & Influence

• Influences and negotiates with the respective Divisional Finance teams who may have divergent objectives in relation to their respective business P&L. This involves challenging the assumptions to direct and shape the submissions

• Ensures that Finance is closely integrated with, and positively supports the business providing managers at all levels with the necessary information to make good business decisions; works with the Key accounts team in the development and implementation of short and medium term strategic and tactical plans and provide the financial input required to that process.

• A proven track record of accomplishments

• Leadership presence and credibility with various levels of management

• Comfortable with occasional ambiguity but able to make calculated decisions

• Advanced PC, modeling and analytical skills (both quantitative and qualitative)

• Possesses a natural collaborative style, and is able to work effectively and efficiently across the multiple areas and levels of the Mastercard organization

• Self-motivated while operating within a team environment

• Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or related discipline, MBA / CA Preferred (preferably in Finance/Strategy/General Management), CPA/CFA a plus
