ABOUT YOUR ROLE: Support growth and profitability as a material sourcing expert. Execute professional material development and commercialization to transition from development to bulk in coordination with the product calendar.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE :

  • Manage the material development to bulk production process for the business, working with key business partners in overseas headquarter and other sourcing team

  • Ensure all material development activities (including lab dips, strike offs, salesman samples) are followed strictly to the calendar, working with relevant stakeholders throughout the process

  • Provide knowledge and guidance on materials to the business teams

  • Solid experience to deal with offshore vendors and proactively to communicate with them for all fabric and/or trim development follow up, including all required testing

  • Proactively work with fabric and/or trim suppliers and business partner for solution of potential quality issues

  • Prepare supplier performance reports to manage business expectations and product delivery

  • Collect & manage the details and documents (including sample invoices & GRS certification) for seasonal reports

  • Proactive in price negotiation and sourcing of suppliers to meet requirements, conduct cost analysis

  • Participate in and help drive process improvements

WHAT WE WILL BE LOOKING FOR IN YOU :

  • At least 3 years’ experience, preferable in textiles/fashion/consumer goods

  • Sound knowledge and experience handling fabric and/or trim materials (woven & knit)

  • Able to review product and suggest alternative options for costing and technical purposes

  • Able to communicate effectively, both verbally and written, in English and Spanish.

  • Strong multitasker that can handle a wide scope on tight deadlines

  • Self-motivated and able to work under pressure and be focused

  • Extremely well organized with a keen eye for detail

  • Competent in managing relationships with suppliers and internal business partners

  • Intermediate-advanced user of Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel (pivot tables, etc)

Principal Accountabilities:

Under broad supervision:* Conduct internal quality controls to ensure established quality procedures and norms are followed* Conduct non-routine quality analysis and test/inspect quality control programs, resolve most questions and problems and recommend necessary quality procedure changes* Monitor and records inconsistencies with quality procedures and norms* Record and analyze customer claims and prepare reports on rejected or defective products* May assist in the development of new methods and procedures

Knowledge & Skill Requirements::

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field Equivalent years of experience in a substantially similar industry may be considered in lieu of a degree to be determined by the nature of the specific job and the hiring manager’s criteria Three to five years of related experience preferred* Strong written and oral communication skills

  • Understands and applies the principles and practices in a recognized professional field requiring extensive academic preparation* Likely to be newly professionally qualified in a specific field, or will have extensive experience in complex technical area* Determines a course of action based on guidelines and modifies processes and methods as required* Generally requires knowledge of company policies, practices, and procedures
