Job Description

The Silicon and System Prototyping Lab (SSPL) is looking for an FPGA/emulation engineer for Intel lab prototypes.

In this role, you will be expected to:

• work with members across other research organizations at Intel Labs to develop custom logic designs (Verilog RTL),

• integrate 3rd party Soft and Hard IP, perform verification (SV, UVM) and implementation (Quartus or Vivado) of FPGA based systems.

• create emulation models from RTL designs using emulation tools and flows, such as but not limited to, synthesis, partitioning and routing (Protocompiler) in FPGA or emulation systems (HAPS, Zebu).

• collaborate in system integration (HW, SW, Collateral, Scripting, Debug) tasks in pre-silicon and post-silicon stages of Si and FPGA based proof of concept prototypes.

The ideal candidate should exhibit the following behavioral trait:

• Advanced communication skills.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications are required to be initially considered for this position:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer, Electrical or Electronics Engineering.

• 1+ years of experience in logic design (RTL) for ASICs or FPGAs.

• 1+ years of experience in Verilog and/or VHDL.

• 1+ years of experience working with verification tools such as: VCS or Questa/ModelSim and FPGA synthesis tools Quartus or Vivado.

• 1+ years of experience implementing FPGA systems with sensors, processors and interfaces like MIPI, PCIe, Eth, I2C, SPI, etc.

• Intermediate to advanced English level.

Preferred Qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

• Experience programming firmware of software for embedded processors (ARM, x86, NIOS, etc.).

• Experience implementing in logic hardware (RTL) communications or control modules in fixed point.

• Experience working with geographically dispersed teams on Emulation, Pre-Si Verification or Post-Si Validation for ASICs.

• Experience working with Emulation Industry tools and flows like HAPS, Zebu or ProFPGA.

Working Model

This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site. In certain circumstances the work model may change to accommodate business needs.
