United States Fleet Forces Command SUPPLY MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST in Groton Submarine Base, Connecticut

Summary You will serve as a Supply Management Specialist at Submarine Readiness Squadron 32 (SRS-32) located at Submarine Base, Groton, Southeastern CT Planning Region. Responsibilities You will coordinate and process Automated Shore Interface products for submarines; therefore, removing workload from the submarine’s 3M Coordinator and Supply Department. You will coordinate and schedule Automated Shore Interface (ASI) products to be processed onboard submarines as required. You will be responsible to download ASI products and bring the files to the submarine for processing into the Relational Supply (RSUPPLY) system You will be responsible to reconcile the Automated Stock Reports, review and verify the Bulk Input File and perform all needed ship checks. You will be responsible to provide technical expertise in logistics, inventory, and financial management, as related to automated supply, to submarines and shore commands through on-site assistance and implementation. You will be responsible to assess logistics readiness, develop plans for corrective actions for assigned submarines. You will be responsible to coordinate and schedule periodic technical assist visits and inspections of submarine supply operations to evaluate and improve supply readiness. You will provide Cost-Wise Readiness analysis to ensure efficient management of Operating Target (OPTAR) resources. You will be responsible to obtain necessary credentials/training to obtain and perform the functions of a Government Commercial Purchase Card (GCPC) Approving Official (AO). You will provide technical expertise in logistics, inventory, and financial management, as related to automated supply, to submarines and shore commands through training. You will provide operational logistics oversight to the supply operation of all assigned submarines. You will assess logistics readiness for assigned submarines, develop training plans for inclusion into corrective actions for discrepancies. You will analyze, evaluate, and take action to increase Atlantic Fleet Submarine’s and Squadron’s participation and effectiveness in a wide variety of programs and processes. You will be responsible to evaluate the Submarine Supply Departments training program, develop corrective actions to resolve discrepancies and improve weak areas. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience applying knowledge of Navy's supply and logistics management programs, systems, instructions, policies, techniques and practices pertaining to the proper management of submarine stores division operations. Experience with analytical techniques and methods used to optimize the efficiency and effectiveness of supply operations that support the submarine force mission, to include obtaining all certifications/training requirements to perform in the capacity as an Approving Official for the Government Commercial Purchase Card (GCPC) program. Experience applying knowledge of Navy shipboard and ashore hazardous material policies, instructions, and procedures. Experience with Navy's training techniques to include the ability to create a formal lesson plan. Experience with submarine logistics Information Technology (IT) systems and the requisite Information Assurance (IA) policies. Experience with specifications, procedures, and organizational responsibilities associated with aspects of supply management of Navy ships. Experience and familiarity with technical publications to be able to interpret systems procedures and properly instruct user personnel. Experience using Microsoft Office products including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
