Description We are searching for a Medical Biller/Collections Specialist in the Healthcare, Hospitals, and Social Assistance industry, located in Greenwood, South Carolina. This role primarily revolves around preparing and submitting billing data and medical claims to insurance companies. In addition, you will need to ensure the accuracy and up-to-date status of each patient's medical information, prepare bills and invoices, and document amounts due for medical procedures and services. As this position is a contract role, it offers a short term contract employment opportunity.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and submit billing data and medical claims to insurance companies

• Ensure the accuracy and up-to-date status of each patient's medical information

• Prepare bills and invoices for medical procedures and services

• Document amounts due for medical procedures and services

• Use medical software such as Allscripts, EHR SYSTEM, McKesson, and Medisoft

• Handle appeals, billing functions, claim administration, and collection processes

• Act as a collector when necessary to recover due amounts. Requirements • Proficiency in medical software such as Allscripts, EHR SYSTEM, McKesson, and Medisoft

• Demonstrable experience in medical billing functions and claim administration

• Knowledge and understanding of appeals processes within the healthcare industry

• Familiarity with collection processes and acting as a collector

• Ability to follow established procedures for billing, invoicing, and accounting

• Strong communication skills to interact effectively with patients, insurance companies, and healthcare providers

• Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion

• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously

• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

• Knowledge of federal and state laws related to medical billing and insurance claims.
