The applicant will assure responsibility for decision makin concerning detention of youth brought by law enforcment to the LCJDC; apply detention criteria established by the Judge of Leflore County Youth Court. The applicant will maintain security in the Center,maintain accurate records, to secure all youth personal possessions, to identity possible signs of abuse or neglect of youth. To supervise visit with parents, guardians, etc. The applicant will ask questions of youth and record pertinent information in admission records, notify parents or guardians that their child is in custody, to communicate observations of youth to appropriate staff, maintain hourly head count. The applicant must provide crisis and supportive guidance to youth for the purpose of responding in a caring and nurturing manner to their emotional needs as a positive role model. The applicant must provide preventive interventions in warning of potential conflicts beteween youth; in the event of verbal or physical conflict, to provide effective crisis intervention to resolve conflict. To monitor and implement emergency procedures as needed.
