Greenwich Country Day School is an independent, co-educational day school with a current enrollment of over 1400 students in grades N-12, and a faculty and staff of 400. The original Old Church Road campus is home to grades N-8. The new High School, established in 2019, is located less than two miles away on Stanwich Road. Greenwich Country Day School seeks a Marketing and Digital Content Manager to start in July 2024. Reporting to the Director of Strategic Communications, this individual will manage and create content for digital communication channels, including the school website, social media, and portals. In addition, this individual will track data analytics for our digital platforms and assist in managing all projects through the communications process. The ideal candidate will be a talented writer and project manager who possesses superior organizational skills, an interest in and aptitude for systems management and data analytics, and an enthusiastic attitude to engage with all members of the school community.
Responsibilities Include:
Support the Communications Director in planning, development, and execution of all GCDS Communications projects and work with all members of the Communications team on strategic brand advancement
Work with the Director to develop, implement, and analyze marketing plans
Engage with the school community on an ongoing basis to create editorial content for the school website and all social media platforms
Write, produce, and edit own work and the work of others; within and external to the Communications Department; proof communications for accuracy and adherence to GCDS guidelines
Initiate and manage editorial calendar including social media, “Headlines” videos, advertising, website updates, and public digital presence
Manage and oversee GCDS social media channels, create content that promotes GCDS to internal and external constituencies, and analyze effectiveness of campaigns
Coordinate strategic approach for all GCDS social media accounts; oversee use policies and best practices, collaborating with other GCDS social media account content producers
Manage analytics of website, social media, and all digital platforms and make recommendations based on evaluation of data
Manage projects from point of request through to completion; ensure timely delivery via tracking and monitoring of status of all projects
Stay current with the latest digital and social media best practices and technology
Provide editorial content and coverage in support of special events, performing arts, athletics, and other programs on campus, as well as Development and Admissions Office initiatives and those of other departments, as needed
Conduct interviews, develop scripts, and distribute editorial content appropriately
Work closely and productively with all members of the Communications staff to understand timing of all projects and ensure cohesive messaging
Respond to requests for information and oversee correspondence, as needed
Attend school events to develop content and understanding of school culture
Place all insertion orders and oversee processing of all invoices
Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
A bachelor’s degree in Communications or related
5+ years of meaningful experience in a communications/marketing role, preferably within an educational institution
Ability to think strategically about the school’s communications needs
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; writing samples will be requested
Superior proofreading ability
Advanced ability with a wide array of communications and print production technology, visual applications and programs
Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to connect with all members of the community and ability to creatively solve problems by working collaboratively with stakeholders
Advanced capability with communications technology, including Google docs, Microsoft Office suite, Adobe Creative Cloud, website and all social media platforms
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously through production and meet deadlines while addressing competing priorities
Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage a large library of digital editorial content
Ability to adhere to deadlines and clearly communicate project status and needs
Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in all aspects of work
Ability to maintain absolute confidentiality and the integrity of all aspects of information disseminated within or external to the school community
Commitment to being part of a diverse, equitable, and inclusive school community
Cultural competency skills to successfully collaborate across difference
Advanced knowledge of analytics for digital platforms (e.g., website, social media channels, etc.) and ability to develop recommendations based on data
Proficiency with website content management systems (e.g., Interactive Schools ), mass communication systems (e.g., Veracross/Composer, Mailchimp, K-12 Alerts), work order tracking systems (e.g. Zendesk), and social media channels (e.g., Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Vimeo)
Availability to work occasional evening and weekend hours, as needed
Working knowledge of copyright laws, image licensing, digital privacy laws, and accessibility guidelines (i.e. WCAG 2.0)
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience in an independent school setting
Background with brand management
Spanish proficiency
