Category Manager Manages a team of Merchandise Managers responsible for product assortments, product pricing and supplier management. This role will also have some direct merchandising responsibility for defined product departments. The base salary range for this role is \$85, 000- \$100,000K Annually **This is an Onsite role, in our Greenville WI office ** Summary of Primary Responsibilities Lead negotiations with suppliers, secure signed agreements and achieve increase in vendor funding and systemically reduce costs to School Specialty through supplier management of costs. Lead development of comprehensive product and service portfolio for assigned categories. Collaborate on development of targeted growth strategies for assigned categories. Manage and develop merchandise manager teams and prepare them for advancement. Collaborate with supply chain partners to reduce expenses. Monitor and take aggressive steps to drive inventory cost reduction. Develop, manage and implement item level collaborative planning and forecasting along merchandising guidelines. Conduct ongoing competitive analysis for category by customer segment. Determine target marketing and merchandising strategy through all mediums. Establish item and market basket pricing strategy, forecast performance and analyze results to plan/forecast. Minimum Experience Requirements Bachelor\'s degree in business or marketing or 3+ years of merchandising or management experience; MBA a plus. Preferred Skills and Knowledge Demonstrated experience in developing category merchandising plans. Demonstrated experience in supply chain dynamics and vendor negotiations. Strong business analysis skills Strong communication and presentation skills Proven leadership skills and interpersonal skills Ability to prioritize and multi-task.
