L3Harris Specialist, Software Engineer in Greenville, Texas

Job Title: Specialist, Software Engineer-Java Developer

Job Code: 12187

Job Location: Greenville, TX (relocation can be provided for those who qualify)

Schedule: 9/80 reg (Every other Friday off)

Essential Functions:

  • 4+ years in Object Oriented Programming

  • Responsible for research, design, and development of application software in multi-tier architectures to configure and manage Mission Communications Systems equipment.

  • Ability to analyze requirements and design tradeoffs against scope, cost, and schedule constraints

  • Execution of software development process in a CMMI Level 3 environment.

  • Perform coding and unit test of resultant software

  • Perform software component integration

  • Participate and lead peer reviews

  • Identifying, tracking and repairing defects.

  • Support continuous improvement, process innovation and lessons learned activities into software development process

  • Mentoring of engineers

    Qualifications:

  • U.S. Citizenship

  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience, or Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience

  • A combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of a degree

    Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Active DoD Secret clearance or higher

  • Proficient in Java development

  • 2+ years with software configuration management.

  • Familiar with web-based application development and user interfaces (e.g., React).

  • Familiar with Networking/Telecommunication fundamentals and equipment.

  • Able to learn quickly and apply new concepts to development tasks.

  • Able to work closely with other software engineers in a small team.

  • Able to design, implement, and deploy a solution from scratch with technical support.

  • Able to work with minimal supervision, relying on experience and judgement to plan and accomplish goals on a timely basis.
