Job Description

The Records Custodian is an Authorized Representative for the company and a subject matter expert on the ownership/flow of accounts serviced by or owned by the Company and has a basic understanding of various departments in the company. The Records Custodian reviews accounts and underlying documentation and represents the Company as a witness or corporate representative at depositions and hearings. This position requires a high level of independent discretion and the ability to work unsupervised as a sole representative of Resurgent Capital Services.

What You Bring:

  • 3+ years of related experience working in the financial services, debt collections industry, or legal profession, preferably in a litigation heavy environment.

  • Strong familiarity with consumer legal proceedings, collections law such as the FDCPA, and other related matters such as settlement negotiation.

  • Ability to operate as an on-site company representative or expert witness in court or legal proceedings to include trials, depositions, and attorney meetings.

  • Ability to operate in high stress, potentially adversarial situations/conversations and maintain confidential information.

  • Strong communication and organization skills with attention to detail.

  • Ability to handle multiple projects or duties simultaneously.

  • Ability to travel as required which may be weekly at times.

  • Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint) and aptitude for learning new systems.

  • Proficiency in OnBase preferred.

  • Associate’s degree or Bachelor's degree (preferred).
