What Impact You’ll Make

The Gas Power Supplier Quality Leader drives Quality strategy and zero-defect culture across global suppliers and the Supplier Quality function in partnership with Sourcing, Engineering, Global Supply Chain and the Gas Power Quality organization. This leader will drive continuous improvement and problem solving in supplier qualification for Gas Power and One Field Services, including parts, services and repairs. This leader will partner across poles and functions to implement Stop Work, Read Across and other mechanisms to prevent Quality issues, as well as increase Supplier Quality capacity by improving the qualification process and Supplier Deviation Request (SDR) management. The successful candidate will be an experienced leader and strategic thinker with strong knowledge of sourcing and quality tools and processes, an analytical mind and strong ability to drive strategic change; influence across functions; and identify, explain and execute countermeasures for critical Quality issues. This leader will report functionally to Gas Power Quality Leader and functionally to the Gas Power Sourcing Leader.

Job Description

What You’ll Do:

  • Foster a zero-defect culture with the objective of providing products and services that are trusted and preferred by customers.

  • Prevent defects by building quality into all processes and leads quality assurance in the supply-base.

  • Protect customers through systemic problem-solving, solving problems quickly with rigor and transparency and leveraging lessons learned.

  • Drive systematic root cause solutions.

  • Create Quality standards in the Supplier Quality organization and ensures team executes to those standards.

  • Free up capacity on the Supplier Quality team to prioritize Safety Quality Delivery Cost (SQDC) support.

  • Manage activities that define, deploy and survey Supplier Quality requirements including qualifications, action plan, audits and performance monitoring.

  • Apply sourcing strategies, approaches and methodologies to improve supplier performance.

  • Improve speed and quality of feedback to suppliers and Sourcing.

  • Scale Gas Power qualification standard to improve field-based repairs and field services organizations.

  • Ensure that Quality Management System (QMS) requirements are effectively established and maintained in compliance with all regulatory standards.

  • Lead continuous improvement processes to boost operational reliability and operational excellence.

  • Minimize Cost of Poor Quality (CoPQ) and impact key Quality Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) such as Customer Events and Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) associated with suppliers.

  • Work with Strategic Sourcing teams to support execution of supplier consolidation strategy.

  • Ensure supplier compliance with regulatory and reputational requirements.

  • Build an inclusive culture by focusing on safety and quality and aligning with the GE Leadership Behaviors, ensuring effective cross-functional communication and engagement with team members to ensure understanding and alignment with operational goals.

  • Provide leadership development and performance feedback to staff members, as well as coaches and mentors across the Gas Power business.

What You’ll Bring (Basic Qualifications):

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college or equivalent experience

  • Significant experience in Quality, Lean and Supply Chain

  • Operationally experienced in supply chain and able to constructively collaborate cross-functionally to effectively define the big picture of supplier quality success

  • Expertise in lean problem-solving tools including A3 and 8D

  • Demonstrated experience leading transformation in a dynamic environment

  • English fluency

  • Travel as needed to drive strategy, support problem solving at manufacturing sites and connect with team

What Will Make You Stand out:

  • Master’s degree in engineering or supply chain

  • Demonstrated experience leading and developing Quality policies, procedures and practices in demanding, in Quality-focused industries (e.g. automotive, aviation)

  • Experience leading process simplification in a Quality context

  • Outstanding interpersonal and leadership skills, capable of influencing and driving a strategic change agenda across the organization

  • Change agent with strong credibility at all levels of the organization

  • Strong communication skills, experience working and leading cross-culturally

  • Strong analytical skills with ability to identify and explain critical issues

  • Ability to work effectively across functions

  • Proven mentoring and coaching abilities; demonstrated ability to motivate and inspire others

The salary range for this position is $170,000 to $350,000 USD. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s geographic location, experience, education, skill set, and work location. This position is also eligible for variable incentive compensation and equity. Benefits include health and additional benefits.
