POSITION PURPOSE

Compiles ordered pharmaceuticals, supplies and equipment and delivers these products to various offices in an accurate, courteous and timely manner. The technician is familiar with staff, medications, supplies, equipment and techniques to avoid spread of infection; is familiar with and assists in product ordering, receiving, stocking, shipping and equipment maintenance. Necessary to attend all internal in-services.

QUALIFICATIONS

High School diploma, valid,insurable driver's license with an excellent driving record, free of disciplinary restrictions. Knowledge of delivery and service areas, inventory monitoring/warehouse skills.

Dependable in attendance and job related duties.

Must be over 21 years of age.

A record of satisfactory performance in all prior and current employment as evidenced by positive employment references from previous and current employers.

Must be able to assume a flexible work schedule.

INTERPERSONAL SKILLS

Must have excellent interpersonal skills in handling interactions with Palmetto Infusion staff, other agencies, groups, patients and families.

TECHNOLOGY SKILLS

Competent in use of company email as means of communication, accessing the company website to view company policies and electronic medical records.

Competent in the use of company self-service payroll software (time and attendance, benefits, pay statements).

Competent in the use of Microsoft Office products and the ability to navigate Internet Explorer. Proficient in typing, word processing (Microsoft Outlook/Express, Word, Excel), and familiar with office equipment.

Proficient in the operation of CPR+.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

This position requires a knowledge of, and sensitivity to, cultural and language differences.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Must have the ability to perform basic mathematical computations. Ability to apply concents such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.

REASONING ABILITY

There are a number of deadlines associated with this position. The employee must also multi-task and interact with a wider variety of people on various and, at times, complicated issues.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the primary functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to frequently stand, walk, sit, bend, twist, talk and hear. There may be prolonged periods of sitting, keyboarding, reading, as well as driving or riding in transport vehicles. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include reading, distance, computer, and color vision. Talking and hearing are essential to communicate with patients, vendors and staff.

OTHER SKILLS

Must be able to work as a team member and develop productive and cooperative working relationships with all members of the Palmetto Infusion team.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES, FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES

Maintains delivery vehicles in a clean, orderly and safe condition; informs supervisor of any vehicle performance or safety problems; operates the vehicle in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations; ensures completion of schedule or necessary maintenance of the vehicle.

Ensures full adherence to policies and procedures, including maintenance of accurate and complete records, in compliance with federal and state regulations (e.g. FDA, DOT, OSHA), regarding the transport and handling hazardous and bio-hazardous materials.

Participates in performance improvement, safety and other committee and individual activities, as requested.

Accepts periodic on-call assignment.

Observes all company safety rules and regulations.

Attends all internal required in-services per year.

Accurately compiles ordered medication, supplies, equipment and associated documentation in preparati n for delivery; obtains supervisory cross-check of accuracy of compiled order.

Delivers and/or picks up medications, supplies and equipment to/from Palmetto Infusion offices and other locations as needed.

Stores/packages medications, supplies and equipment to/from locations as needed.

Organizes delivery routing to meet therapy and patient schedules while maximizing cost-efficiency.

Documents appropriately in CPR+.

Performs all other duties, as requested.

Communicates with patients in a professional manner.

Maintains confidentiality of patient information.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the primary functions of this job. Normal office conditions exist, and the noise level in the work environment can vary from low to moderate. Limited overnight travel may be required from time to time.
