Hyster-Yale Materials Handling, Inc. (HYMH) , a world-class manufacturer of industrial lift trucks, has an outstanding opportunity for an exceptional and talented Warranty Project Engineer I” based out of our Americas Headquarter office in Greenville, NC.

Who you are:

  • A highly motivated individual excelling in fast-paced environments, skilled at delivering top-tier customer service to dealers.

  • The incumbent is considered an expert central source of information for Warranty and Service.

  • One who remains calm and analytical in dealing with adverse situations. Since many sales efforts hinge on this support, the incumbent must be able to project this expert image when making written and verbal communication with the customer contact.

  • Decisions must be made on a timely, cost-effective basis and coincide with all aspects of customer satisfaction.

  • Incumbent must be proficient technically on the complete HYMH system interface assigned to them, which requires a great amount of knowledge and experience.

  • The successful Warranty Project Engineer must be able to travel up to 25% of the time to direct dealer and customer contact to effectively resolve problems in the field.

  • This position must professionally represent HYMH and the HYMH brands to dealers, customers, and vendors.

  • This position will fully support all quality initiatives.

What you will do:

  • You will lead a variety of activities to provide prompt and accurate technical support, both internally to HYMH and externally to dealers and customers, ensuring total customer satisfaction through long-term product reliability.

  • This selected candidate will facilitate service input to new product development programs, monitor warranty and case management for failure trends, and coordinate field activity to support issue resolution. Additionally, it supports product liability activities, represent HYMH during accident investigations and trials, and assists in creating and reviewing flat rate service times for new and existing products.

  • Responsible for executing Field Product Improvement projects to implement corrective action of trending failures in conjunction with the appropriate design development center, manufacturing facility, and/or supplier quality group to reduce warranty exposure and implement product improvements.

What you will need:

  • BS in Engineering. ABET accredited preferred.

  • Minimum of 5-7 years of relevant experience.

Skills, Experience & Abilities:

  • Master level knowledge of electrical, mechanical and hydraulic systems, mechanical construction, internal combustion engines and/or electric motors.

  • Be able to interpret engineering drawing, wiring diagrams, schematics and welding procedures.

  • Specialized knowledge of lift truck applications related to stability, safety and efficient operation.

  • Master level knowledge of departmental and corporate policies and procedures. Specialized knowledge of government and industry regulations concerning industrial trucks.

  • Specialized knowledge of failure analysis.

  • Leadership capabilities.

  • Excellent verbal, written communication and presentation skills.
