What you will do

This position is responsible for helping to implement the 'Jobs to be Done' research to identify and understand customer needs, pain points, and aspirations, driving customer-centric innovation and strategic initiatives for Mack Trucks. The Strategy Manager will collaborate closely with various stakeholders to conduct research, extract key insights, and drive strategy. Central to this role is the ability to ask the right questions, gather and analyze data, document processes, and help to integrate customer needs into the organization's services strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead efforts to define customer job maps, outlining customer job steps, and identifying needs and desired outcomes.

• Analyze and interpret customer research data to identify key jobs related to Mack Trucks' products and services.

• Support customer segmentation efforts within Mack by applying Jobs to be Done insights.

• Help to develop and implement strategies based on Jobs to be Done analysis to enhance offerings in collaboration with product development, engineering, marketing, and sales teams.

• Collaborate with internal and external groups on market analysis to understand industry trends, competition, and service opportunities.

• Work closely with Product Segment managers to provide research data and support in identifying opportunities

• Help to quantify business cases for new solution implementation.

• Deliver compelling executive-level management reports.

• Exhibit and teach exceptional problem-solving skills.

• Lead tasks for senior stakeholders with critical deadlines.

• Present findings and recommendations to senior leadership.

• Support strategic initiatives for Mack Trucks' strategy development and implementation.

• Develop and present senior-level materials.

Who are you?

Critical Competencies:

• Strong analytical skills with a process-oriented approach.

• Interview skill set with capability to identify purchasing patterns, identify direct and indirect competitors, why customers switch competitors and familiarity with JTBD interview techniques.

• Ability to effectively communicate how findings lead to business conclusions is essential as well as demonstrating the value and impact of data-driven insights.

• Communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts to different audiences.

• Effective problem solving skills.

• Strategic agility / innovation management.

• Learning on the fly.

• Customer focus.

• Ability to network and influence stakeholders in the organization.

Essential Educational and/or Training Qualifications and Certificates:

Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Product/Innovation Management.

Preferred Experience and Knowledge:

• 5-7 years experience in within the heavy truck, equipment or automotive industry.

• Experience with dealer networks or channel partners.

• Experience with connected services and telematics service providers a plus.

• Experience setting priorities with cross-functional and complex organizations.

• Experience with data analysis.

Other Requirements:

• High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

• Strong data analysis skills, including the ability to prioritize decisions with data.

• Selling ideas, programs, and business cases.

• Change facilitation.
