North Carolina Agriculture & Technical State Unive Instructional Technology Specialist in Greensboro, North Carolina

Description:

This position provides faculty and staff development and support for the adoption and integration of modern technology into teaching, learning, and operations.

This position works across multiple departments and the entire university to implement new applications and technologies, develop training and resource materials that are accessible, engaging, and pedagogically grounded, and provide training and support.

The position is a key member of Instructional Technology Training and Development and supports the university’s strategic goals of expanding the IT software infrastructure and improving efficiency and effectiveness of daily operations.

Primary Function of Organizational Unit:

Information Technology Services ( ITS ) strengthens and supports the university’s mission of teaching, research, and scholarly application of knowledge by providing the information technology infrastructure, software, hardware, and support to achieve the university’s strategic goals.

ITS is comprised of nine departments which work with the university community to provide the information technology support and services required to realize operational excellence, integrate advanced technology, and create efficient and effective technology solutions.

Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in curriculum and instruction, educational media, instructional technology, instructional design or a related field with three years’ experience directly related to the duties of the position, or bachelor’s degree in curriculum and instruction, educational media, instructional technology, instructional design or a related field with five years’ experience directly related to the duties of the position.

  • Ability to use a wide variety of instructional technologies to support teaching, learning, and research.

  • Strong understanding of technology with hands-on knowledge of Apple products, software applications, and other education-related third-party apps.

  • Ability to advise faculty on the design, development, and implementation of instructional technology that supports and enhances instruction and learning.

  • Experience providing professional development, including training and workshops, to support teaching, learning, research, and work productivity.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of current instructional theories and practices applicable to technology-enhanced instruction.

  • General understanding of copyright, fair use, universal design principles, and digital accessibility.

  • Exemplary leadership skills in the successful implementation of digital resources in education.

  • Experience developing digital resources for teaching and learning.

  • Excellent communication skills for consultations and training.

Preferred:

  • Master’s degree in curriculum and instruction, educational media, instructional technology, instructional design or a related field.

  • Extensive experience working with iPads and other peripherals.

  • Apple Teacher Certification

  • Experience with learning management systems (i.e. Blackboard, Canvas)

This position may be eligible for a remote or hybrid work arrangement, consistent with university and state policies. N.C. A&T employees are generally required to reside in North Carolina, within a 2-hour commuting distance of their assigned duty station.
