What you will do

As Director of Product Safety & Certification, your main responsibility is to lead the organization by securing efficient contributions to the development and maintenance of our products in the North American segments. This includes maintaining 100% compliance with the North American regulatory agencies overseeing product safety and managing all aspects of product safety defect analysis and reporting.

In this role, you will lead the Product Safety & Certification group deliveries, respecting budget, delivery time, and quality. Your team manages product safety defect determinations and mandatory reporting, certification plans within ongoing projects, and certification compliance deliveries. The team is also expected to provide expertise in regulatory requirements and reports compliance status to various management levels in the organization. To complete these tasks, you will actively work with your counterparts within the Technology, Purchasing and Operations functions, as well as the representatives from the Volvo and Mack Truck Brands and Regulatory Authorities to address complex technical challenges.

Your future team

In this position you will lead and manage a team of highly skilled Product Safety Investigators, Certification Engineers, and Product Regulation Specialists whose primary mission is to work closely with the regulatory agencies and securing our products are continuously compliant to Product Safety regulations. You will be responsible for the development of the team to support future challenges contributing to the deliveries of product updates according to quality, delivery, cost and feature targets.

You will be an important member of CV USA Management Team as well as our global certification networks.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in an Engineering or technical discipline is required.

  • Supervisory experience as Manager with direct reports

  • 15+ years of Product Development experience in the transportation industry

  • Experience working with certification of products.

  • Proven experience in team development and interest in how each person can contribute to the team.

  • True interest in our products and preferably commercial driver license for truck and trailer.
