North Carolina Agriculture & Technical State Unive Director for Space Planning and Management in Greensboro, North Carolina

Description:

The Director for Academic Space Planning and Management is responsible for Capital and Space Planning and Management for the university, aligning space and physical resources with strategic vision to support N.C. A&T’s tripartite mission of teaching, research, and outreach. This position plans new facilities to meet programmatic needs and priorities of the campus including space and facility projects to support university growth areas and initiatives, development of strategies to improve utilization of existing space, and to develop strategies for environmentally friendly initiatives. This position will analyze and utilize space data to collaborate in the strategic and long-range planning for the programming, design, and development of campus space, properties, and facilities, including buildings, infrastructure, and landscape projects; research, design and program guidelines; compliance with environmental planning regulations and architectural design review.

North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University ( NCAT ) is an 1890 land-grant doctoral research university dedicated to learning, discovery, and community engagement, advancing the human condition and facilitating economic growth It is the largest historically black college or university ( HBCU ) in the nation and its enrollment exceeds 13,000 students, approximately 2000 of whom are graduate students. The students are served by more than 700 faculty, teaching at the baccalaureate, masters and doctoral levels. Requirements:

Relevant post-Baccalaureate degree required in interior design, architecture, urban design, urban planning, or a closely related field, and have a minimum of 6 years of professional-level experience in campus or urban planning, land use planning, facility data management, facilities assessment, space utilization analysis, or related fields or

Baccalaureate degree in interior design, architecture, urban design, urban planning, or a closely related field, and have a minimum of 8 years of professional-level experience in campus or urban planning, land use planning, facility data management, facilities assessment, space utilization analysis, or related fields.

-Demonstrated expertise in working with various internal and external constituencies, specifically in diverse organizations.

-Strong organizational, interpersonal, analytical skills.

-Effective verbal and written communication skills.

-Proven problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.

-Demonstrated project management expertise.

Preferred:

Minimum of ten (10) years of progressively responsible experience at a senior management level in facilities operations/services within a highly complex environment that includes a wide range of facilities types, sizes, and ages.
