North Carolina Agriculture & Technical State Unive Associate Director for Career Development in Greensboro, North Carolina

Description:

The Associate Director for Career Development is responsible for developing and managing career development functions, educating students about the world of work, developing/enhancing partnerships.

Provides guidance and structure for a range of services offered by career services including, career preparation, entry-level jobs, career opportunities, outreach/marketing resources and events, alumni employment services, staff orientation, and programming.

Develop career-related programs (i.e., workshops/seminars, etc.) including implementation and evaluation.

This role develops strong partnerships with academic colleges and student groups and organizations.

Supervises career development team (full-time career coaches and student peer career coaches).

The Associate Director is also a part of the OCS executive leadership team which provides the vision for the office.

Primary Function of Organizational Unit:

The mission of the Office of Career Services ( OCS ) is to provide centralized, comprehensive and progressive inter-disciplinary programs, services and resources to prepare the over 13,400+ A&T students for the achievement of successful personal and professional career development to meet the needs of a global society.

Career Services is customer focused and centralizes the functions of full-time employment, summer internships, cooperative education, part-time employment, post graduation employment, and career counseling.

The centralized, comprehensive and progressive programs, services and resources provided by the Office are tailored to be a gateway for the enhancement of the skills necessary to keep the A&T Aggie competitive in the workplace.

The Office brings over 800 employers to campus and provides more than 15,000 position announcements yearly.

Individuals who are formally enrolled in a degree-granting program at the University, or who are alumni, are eligible to use the facilities, programs, and services.

Requirements:

Masters Degree in Counseling or related field with five years experience in career services, human resources, and career-related workshop/seminar development and training.

Demonstrated knowledge of career services software. Strong Microsoft Office, assessment, analytical, written and oral communications, and organizational skills.

Preferred:

Seven years experience in career services, human resources, and career-related workshop/seminar development and training. Career assessment certification desired.
