North Carolina Agriculture & Technical State Unive Associate Athletic Director for External Affairs in Greensboro, North Carolina

Description:

The Associate Athletic Director for External Affairs reports to the Deputy Athletics Director. The candidate must be self-motivated, dedicated, and responsible with a demonstrated ability to communicate readily and effectively at all levels with a wide variety of people, both within and outside of the university community.

This position would will primarily be responsible for strategic and effective leadership of external operations and revenue generation for the North Carolina A&T Athletics Department.

Oversight includes marketing, promotions, corporate sponsorship management, sport supervision assistance, and outbound ticket sales. N.C. A&T is a member of the NCAA and the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference.

Primary Function of Organizational Unit:

Consistent with the mission statement of the University to provide an intellectual environment where students develop a sense of identification, belonging, responsibility, and achievement that prepares them for leadership and service in regional, national and global communities.

The department of athletics provides a comprehensive program of intercollegiate competition as an integral part of the total educational experience for all students.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in a discipline related to the area of assignment; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

Preferred:

Master’s degree in business (or sports business) administration, marketing, sales, global sport leadership and higher education, sport management or related field; Successful experience: Seven years of sports marketing and sponsorship acquisition experience at the intercollegiate or professional athletic level or 10 years operational and personnel management experience in a highly complex organization.

Demonstrate ability to communicate effectively, using oral and written communication skills. Demonstrate experience in the use of computers, spreadsheets, and computer applications (such as Excel, Word, Publisher, and Power Point). Maintaining and providing timely response to university related email. The ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships within a diverse environment and interact positively within the department of intercollegiate athletics. Demonstrate a level of emotional intelligence consistent with reasonable expectations for higher education professionals. Candidates must demonstrate understanding, compliance and commitment to all NCAA , Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference and institutional rules.
