Conduct a variety of established audits and inspections to ensure conformance of materials, supplies, parts, processes, and products to requirements, specifications and quality standards.
Perform first article/PPAP, incoming, in process, and/or final inspections of raw materials, components, materials, and/or assembled parts, referring quality problems to supervisor for final resolution.
Select and determine methods, tools, gauges, and fixtures to inspect various sizes and shapes of components, materials, and/or assembled parts.
Make gauging setups and position parts to check dimensions, hole locations, squareness, surface, recesses, contours, and other print characteristics.
Conduct standard destructive and non-destructive tests for material or product strength.
Assist in maintenance of calibration for inspect tools, gauges, and measuring instruments to ensure conformance to specifications, adjust and set as required and verify accuracy.
Maintain various quality records and databases (for Document Control, Calibration, Incoming Inspection, etc as needed),
Segregate, record, and take action on nonconforming material based upon MRB and/or supervisory direction.
Process customer returns through Customer Complaint sharepoint (CCF), analysis of the results and disposition, conduct containment actions until long term solution follow up.
Assist in activities to maintain ISO 9001 certification, and/or Quality Management System requirements.
Follow up on special test requests or temporal containment designated due quality issue or quality concern.
Monitor and follow up to internal and external 8D requirements from the Value Stream assigned until closure.
Follow safety rules and keep work areas in a clean and orderly condition (Maintain 5S activities).
Communicate with other work shifts as needed.
Active participation on an HPT and/or Starpoint Team.
May perform other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience:
3 or more years applicable experience in manufacturing quality preferred.
-High School Diploma or GED
Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend written and oral instructions, work orders, procedures, prints, and short correspondence. Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in written form with engineers, managers, and other associates to share information and help to solve problems.
Mathematical Skills : Add, subtract, multiply, and divide numbers, including decimals and fractions. Requires analytical use of complicated part specifications and drawings, handbook formulas, charts, and tables. Requires the ability to use various types of measuring instruments and equipment.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: No prerequisites required. ASQ Certified Quality Technician preferred.
Other Skills and Abilities : Requires the ability to operate various machines and equipment to include hoist, pallet jacks, and various types of precision measuring instruments such as optical comparator, Profilometer, Faro Arm, gauge blocks, hardness tester, spring tester, torque meter, height gauge, and other gauges. Requires the knowledge of precision inspection methods and procedures. Requires basic computer skills and usage of MSS, Microsoft Office applications including mainly Excel, Outlook, Teams and some internal SharePoint.

While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to stand and use hands to finger or touch objects, tools, or controls, push and pull objects, and lift and/or move 5 to 20 lbs. The associate is occasionally required to bend and stoop, repetitively handle parts or tools, and lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include color acuity, near acuity and depth perception.

While performing the duties of this job, the associate occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and comes in contact with water or liquids. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
