About the position:
As a Raymond’s Customs and Trade Compliance Manager, you will be supporting The Raymond Corporation’s Director, Global Trade Compliance in managing international customs clearance operations. The Customs and Trade Compliance Manager ensures the efficiency and accuracy of all compliance activities. The Customs and Trade Compliance Manager makes sure that the work is organized in an optimal way to secure maintain a high level of internal control. You will be managing and executing the company’s import/export processes in areas, such as, classification, valuation, country of origin, and customs broker/3rd party management. Additionally, you will provide international trade compliance support for trade preference program qualifications, guidance on admission eligibility, and analysis of various other trade issues. The Trade Compliance Manager will frequently work cross-functionally with other Raymond team members in Procurement, Transportation, and Accounting, as well as, Suppliers from around the globe to ensure compliance with U.S. and international import/export regulatory requirements.
- Responsible for oversight of day-to-day import/export trade compliance activities at Raymond
- Analyze, research, & assign the appropriate HTS, ECCN & Country of Origin
- Maintain & update detailed product master information in the product library
- Create, process, & ensure the accuracy of all import/export documentation
- Identify & administer duty mitigation opportunities
- Work with Procurement to identify all inbound international shipments
- Frequently interface with suppliers, customs brokers, U.S. Customs and Border Protection, and other governmental agencies
- Maintain required records in accordance with regulatory & internal requirements
- Support and monitor the strategic use of Free Trade Agreements
- Review & audit USMCA Certificates & communicate findings to all parties for compliance
- Prepare, research, and distribute monthly KPI metric reporting
Lead development & maintenance of procedures / manuals for compliance with import/export laws, regulations, & administrative practices
Responsible for establishing brokerage policy toward trade compliance, supporting the management of Customs brokers/agents, and maintaining standard operational procedures
- Support and train internal customers on import/export requirements
About the Schedule:
This position is site based in our corporate office location in Greene, NY. This position may be eligible for a hybrid work schedule upon completion of orientation process.
About you:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Supply Chain, or Intl. Studies
- 5+ years of experience in international trade compliance, supply chain management, or related fields
- 2+ years of direct leadership/management responsibility.
- Licensed U.S. Customs Broker
- Strong knowledge of risk management principles and compliance management
- Strong knowledge of U.S. Customs laws and regulations
- Strong knowledge of HTS/Schedule B classification, customs valuation, & country of origin
- Knowledgeable of Free Trade Agreements and warranty returns

About the total compensation package:
Salary - $96,500-$123,000 per year. Compensation commensurate with candidate’s education and experience.
Relocation - This position may qualify for relocation.
