About the position:

The Preventative Maintenance Planner is responsible for ensuring that all equipment and facilities are maintained in optimal working condition through scheduled maintenance activities. This role involves developing, implementing, and overseeing preventive maintenance plans to reduce downtime, increase efficiency, and extend the lifespan of assets. The Preventative Maintenance Planner will collaborate with maintenance teams, production departments, and other stakeholders to ensure the effective execution of maintenance strategies.

You will:

  • Develop Preventive Maintenance Plans:

  • Create detailed preventive maintenance schedules for all critical equipment and facilities.

  • Ensure plans are based on manufacturer recommendations, industry best practices, and historical performance data.
  • Schedule Maintenance Activities:

  • Coordinate with production and maintenance teams to schedule maintenance activities with minimal disruption to operations.

  • Ensure all necessary resources (parts, tools, personnel) are available for scheduled maintenance tasks.
  • Maintain Maintenance Records:

  • Keep accurate and up-to-date records of all maintenance activities, including work orders, parts used, and labor hours.

  • Utilize maintenance management software to track and report on maintenance activities.
  • Analyze Equipment Performance:

  • Monitor and analyze equipment performance data to identify trends and potential issues.

  • Recommend adjustments to preventive maintenance plans based on analysis and feedback from maintenance personnel.
  • Inventory Management:

  • Manage spare parts inventory to ensure critical parts are available when needed.

  • Coordinate with procurement to order parts and supplies in a timely manner.
  • Continuous Improvement:

  • Continuously seek ways to improve maintenance processes and increase equipment reliability.

  • Implement and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of preventive maintenance activities.
  • Safety and Compliance:

  • Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety regulations and company policies.

  • Conduct regular safety audits and participate in safety training programs.
  • Collaboration and Communication:

  • Work closely with maintenance technicians, engineers, and production staff to ensure effective communication and collaboration.

  • Provide regular updates to management on maintenance activities and equipment status.

About the schedule:

This position is 1st shift and will work 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM.

About the work environment:

Works in a factory setting. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required in accordance with Company policy. For forklift operation, required to obtain and maintain Forklift Driver Certification through the Company and operate the forklift in a safe manner. Required to stand for long periods of time and manually lift/move/manipulate parts up to 50 pounds or use cranes/hoists to move heavier materials. Temperatures may be extreme; elevated in the summer, cold in the winter. Needs to be able to cope with stressors and demands that are associated with the job and/or the work environment so that acceptable and defined levels of performance are maintained.

About you:

  • Specialized knowledge of math and physics or an engineering discipline.
  • 2-3 years experience.
  • Broad in-depth company related experience.

It would be great if you had:

  • Proficiency with tools suited to area of specialization, such as: specialized test equipment, personal computer, AutoCAD, PCAD, Pro Engineer Software, gages meters, and/or hand tools.
  • Proven experience with maintenance management software (e.g., CMMS).
  • 3 years of experience in a maintenance planning role within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in maintenance
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Maintenance Management, or a related field preferred.

About the total compensation package:

Wage - $21.64 - $28.02 per hour. Compensation depends on the selected candidate’s education and experience.
