FAMILY SERVICES MAIN OFFICE Family Resource Navigator in GREEN BAY, Wisconsin

When traumatic situations occur, our staff is there to assist the individual or family with their journey of healing and recovery. Family Services cares for individuals who are isolated, abandoned or just need help developing the skills to live successfully. Our Families First program an intensive case management program that works in collaboration with Brown County Health Human Services which helps those who are struggling to preserve their families find ways to stay together. Families First has an opening for a Family Resource Navigator, a critical organizational role that serves to enhance family find activities. This position will receive referrals from Brown County case managers in efforts to provide a consistent and planned effort to seek family connectedness and placement options. The Family Resource Navigator also serves as the primary point of contact utilizing the Family Finder and Seneca database to link natural family supports and resources that may have never been considered or addressed. This service will attempt to keep families connected to their culture, communities, and way of life by identifying natural family ties with the goal to reduce placement of children and youth into foster care and higher placements. Duties of this role include: managing incoming calls, emails, and other messages to the central access point and record family intake information in Family Finder/Seneca database; maintaining confidentiality and build trusting relationships with families to identify and support concerns and/or needs while documenting referral and follow up resources provided; conducting follow-up with families via phone, mail and/or email to ensure effectiveness of referral and provide additional support; researching and providing for families with the most appropriate resources and education and information on development, behavior management and services, providing advocacy and follow-up as needed. Qualified applicants will have High School diploma and 1-3 years of office experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities. Preferred candidates will have an Associate\'s degree; Bilingual communication skills in English/Spanish are preferred. Candidates must have a valid Wisconsin Driver\'s License, with reliable personal vehicle for transporting persons served and must maintain required auto insurance and acceptable driving record requirements. Daytime travel throughout Wisconsin is required. Qualified candidates must also have experience with client services which embraces family support concept and demonstrates attitude that is accepting, non-judgmental and culturally competent. Good time management and organizational skills, with ability to work with limited supervision are required as are strong organizational, communication and computer skills, which include searching features of a database, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, PDF attachments, email, and use of template letters.
