Sales Manager – JBS Canada

Purpose and Scope/General Summary: We are seeking a Sales Manager to join our team for our JBS Canada Beef division!

This position will be based out of our corporate office in Greeley, CO.

Responsibilities:

  • Leads the US sales team in executing the direction and strategies of JBS Canada Beef division

  • Responsible for sales effectiveness and the quality of account and customer contacts and relationships

  • Supports and contributes to the effective management of product inventory as assigned by plant (old age, push sheets and freight maximization)

  • Coordinate and communicate effectively with other managers and the Sales Director

  • Responsible for the staff management, performance, and development

  • Responsible for managing plant operation excellence to include opining inventory positions/partials sales orders/ meeting minimum shipping requirements

  • Responsible for supporting the efforts and effectiveness of the manager’s team

  • Conduct and/or coordinate customer reviews, presentations and customer visits

  • Monitor accruals and rebates with customers within the assigned region

  • Responsible for tying “partial loads” in a timely manner

  • Performs other assignments as required by direct supervisor

  • Assure that market intelligence is received and submitted to the Marketing and Pricing Depts. for analysis in a timely manner

  • Responsibility for reporting of corporate sales plans and programs to senior management

  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Min. 4-6 years sales management experience and ability to lead a successful sales team

  • Min. 5-7 years fresh meat industry sales experience

  • Ability to formulate and recommend plans, policies, goals, and objectives for sales activities to increase market share, growth and profitability of company products

  • Ability to lead a team and successfully expand market share in existing markets and capture new markets

  • Ability to manage the Sales Department’s resources and personnel to obtain maximum benefit through recruiting, training, organizational and leadership

  • Ability to identify retail trends and new product opportunities

  • Demonstrates ability to gain cooperation with all internal departments including marketing, customer service, finance, research and development

  • Ability to develop and execute both short and long term sales plans and programs in conjunction with Senior Management, to ensure profitability and growth of the Company’s products

  • Ability to develop and recommend pricing strategy component of product marketing mix in working closely with Pricing Department

  • Successful customer relationship management is required

  • Able to communicate effectively with upper management

  • Effective problem solving and decision making skills are preferred

  • Highly organized and effective time management skills are preferred

  • Strong communication skills

  • Required basic computer skills

  • Able to travel when needed

The applicant who fills this position will be eligible for the following compensation and benefits :

  • Benefits : Vision, Medical, and Dental coverage begin after 60 days of employment;

  • Paid Time Off : sick leave, vacation, and 6 company observed holidays;

  • 401(k) : company match begins after the first year of service and follows the company vesting schedule;

  • Base salary range of $ 140,000 - $160,000 ; and

  • Incentive Pay: This position is eligible to participate in the Company’s annual bonus plan, the amount of bonus varies and is subject to the standard terms and conditions of the incentive program;
