City Of Greeley Class Instructor - Active Adult Center in Greeley, Colorado

Hiring Range: $16.69 - $18.78 Hourly

Job Summary: This part-time position at the Greeley Active Adult Center will teach various classes for its members. The ideal candidate will have experience teaching in one or more of the following areas: art, language, dance, music, or other recreational activities. The instructor will be responsible for planning and implementing engaging and interactive classes that cater to the interests and abilities of the Active Adult Center members.

HOURS: Work schedule may vary depending on times and day that classes are held, scheduled hours will be between 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Friday.

Experience, Knowledge, Skills: Experience in customer service with excellent customer service skills. Experience teaching in the areas of art, fitness, dance, music, or other recreational activities. Knowledge and experience in the design and delivery of instructional programs for adult learners. Ability to engage and motivate participants of varying abilities and fitness levels. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work collaboratively with staff, volunteers, and members of the community. Strong organizational and time management skills. Certification in the relevant area of instruction is preferred but not required.

Essential Functions: Plan and implement instructional programs for Active Adult Center members. Conduct classes in a safe, positive, and inclusive environment. Provide feedback to participants and offer modifications for those with physical limitations or injuries. Develop and maintain positive relationships with program participants, staff, and volunteers. Set up and clean up the class area before and after each class. Adhere to all safety guidelines and procedures for the equipment and materials used in the classes. Promote the programs and classes to members and the community. Attend staff meetings and trainings as required. Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements: Frequent contact with public and employees in person. Work is performed in an open office environment with noise levels excessive at times. focused on providing high-quality programs that promote physical, mental, and social wellness for the Active Adult Center members. Communication skills enough to convey information verbally, in writing, and on telephone. Mobility enough to stand, sit and move within a confined work area and access all areas of Recreation and Senior Center facilities.
