Job Description

Directs, plans and organizes the staff and operations of the Clinical Engineering Department. Ensures the safety and compliance of all Clinical Engineering instrumentations with Hospital, regulatory agencies and other statutory rules and requirements.

Job Responsibility

  • Leads a Clinical Engineering group by communicating with and developing staff members, and building consensus for programs and goals that support a business, function or geographic area.

  • Develops and articulates a short-term strategic vision for areas of responsibility.

  • Develops and monitors strategic operating goals and objectives.

  • Prepares and monitors department recurring and capital expense budget.

  • Develops, manages, and evaluates direct reports.

  • Oversees development, management, and evaluation of indirect reports.

  • Directs the Clinical Engineering department by providing guidance in the assessment, acquisition, and application of clinical engineering equipment technology.

  • Provides technical support through inspection, preventive maintenance, and repair of clinical engineering equipment.

  • Performs pre-purchase evaluation of medical instrumentation and gives approval or makes alternative recommendations; assists departments in equipment selection.

  • Reviews and reports on hazard notices and safety modifications of medical equipment reported by government and private agencies; distributes reports to departments for corrective action; ensures corrective action has been taken.

  • Coordinates installation of equipment between involved parties.

Job Qualification

  • Bachelor's Degree required, or equivalent combination of education and related experience.

  • 8-12 years of relevant experience and 7+ years of leadership / management experience, required.

The salary range for this position is $98,300-$170,100/year
