Paycom Online Product Designer - Grapevine, TX in Grapevine, Texas
A Product Designer creates visual representation for existing and new screens across the Paycom system across multiple platforms. They work closely with their team members and Team Lead to produce quality Paycom standard mockups for mobile and web-based applications.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Leads design projects across modules and platforms
Influences the overall design strategy for the Paycom system
Translates design to layout, typography and visual hierarchy
Partners closely with product and development teams to support design strategy
Determines product overlap and user experience when using multiple components
Guides design process through work with cross-functional teams to ensure vision and execution alignment
Points out and proposes solutions to potential conflicts or collisions between different products, platforms and features
Uses design systems and frameworks to create new design styles, patterns and components
Uses research data, design principles, or other objective information to support and promote design decisions and recommendations
Create and conduct usability testing, produce research reports from testing with findings and use in designs.
Maintains and recommends evolutions of current design styles, patterns and components
Considers future goals and product roadmaps when designing a product
Designs for the holistic user experience and potential states when designing a product
Creates interactive prototypes of various levels
Runs usability testing on their prototypes
Conducts User interviews with clients
Assists in user research, studies and experiments and analyze and socialize findings
Leads discussions and collaborations between cross-functional teams
Mentors Associate and Product Designers
Promotes departments vision and goals across the organization
Leads meetings within and outside of design, give presentations to cross-functional groups and senior level leaders
Collects data using various collection techniques and design products based on data analysis
Proactively learns new tools and proposes new tech solutions
Contributes to the culture by advocating and driving execution of design-driven projects and initiatives through-out the entire company
Assists with special projects as needed
Qualifications
Education/Certification:
- High School Diploma/GED
Experience:
2+ years’ experience in design, including multi-platform application, product, graphic design, digital media or related
Portfolio required for review upon interview
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in art, computer science, or technical field
Skills/Abilities:
Familiar with different data collection techniques and design products based on data analysis
Demonstrated proficiency in information architecture, user flows and cross-platform flows
Strong understanding of department vision, the development process, and the interdependencies
Understands the different frameworks of other teams outside the Product department
Advanced ability to use originality, imagination, and creativity in designs.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Knowledge of mobile interface design across multiple operating systems
Strong knowledge in HTML/CSS
Strong knowledge in working in our design programs
Effectively builds and manages relationships across teams and functions
Able to communicate complex ideas, goals and problems in a way that is easy for others not familiar with the project to understand
Proficient in UI software, Principle, Axure, Confluence, UTrack and Wrike
Comprehensive knowledge of Web 2.0 Technologies, Javascript Technologies: JQuery,Json,Ajax, Rich Internet Application Development, Responsive Web Design, and UI Performance Tuning
Self-directed with the ability to work with minimal supervision
Flexible and cooperative in fulfilling all obligation.
Strong presentation skills and confidence in presenting recommendations to leadership
