JOB DESCRIPTION:

Responsible for the growing development of Louver products including a variety of high-velocity, wind-driven rain, and hurricane-impact applications (15%). Develop turnkey product applications from sales/customer concepts, design options, simulations, and project management from rapid prototyping into mass production (10%). Review Sales plans to understand the scope of work and our customer needs. Determine design feasibility, specifications, objectives, and forecast a predictable trial schedule (15%). Develop trial build instructions, validate quality control methods, including witness lab testing/builds (10%). Design for manufacturing listening to the voice of the manufacturing plants (10%). Responsible for customer site visits improves the ease of installations and product improvements (10%). Able to present the development status to other departments, customers, and abroad (10%). Provide technical guidance along with sound engineering principals (10%). Develop lab test internally and externally to achieve US certified Accreditations to drive building codes (10%). 20% domestic travel required.

REQUIREMENTS:

This position requires a Bachelors degree, or foreign equivalent, in Mechanical Engineering or a related field, plus Five (5) years of experience as a Mechanical Engineer, Technical LEAD I or other occupation involving producing product CAD designs for CFD/FEA simulations. Additionally, the applicant must have employment experience with: (1) US building code manipulation into product designs to exceed regulatory requirements; (2) HVAC-Developing specs/installations with product managers, plants, and customers; (3) RandD Louver Build/Test to determine next course of action; (4) CFD - Computational Fluid Dynamics / FEA - Finite element analysis; (5) GDandT - Geometrical and Dimensional Tolerances; (6) DFM -Design for Manufacturing; and (7) VA - Value Analysis initiatives with product redesigns for cost savings.
